On December 30th, 2015, I attended a very special Figure Skating event; a tribute to Sergei Grinkov.

On November 20th, 1995, Sergei, who is two-time olympic pair skating champion with wife Ekaterina Gordeeva, colapsed and died of a heart attack on the ice, while reheasing for a Stars On Ice show in Lake Placid. He was only 28 years old. His memory lives on in the skating world's hearts.

Twenty years later, his wife Katia, along with her daughters, Daria and Liza, her husband Ilia Kulik, as well many of their figure skater friends such as Kristi Yamaguchi, Scott Hamilton and Paul Wylie to name a few, paid a special tribute to him in Lake Placid.

It was a true honour to be sitting in the VIP section for this show, where I got to capture some very special moments for the skating fans and the skaters themselves.
